NHS says: “To lose weight, you need to use more energy than you consume – this is known as a calorie deficit.” But… only focusing on calories and ignoring the types of food isn’t great for long-term health. You can technically lose weight eating “junk food” if you’re under your calorie needs, but your body still needs nutrients for health, not just fewer calories. So, focusing only on calories = not a balanced approach.
